ViewSonic has produced Android tablets measuring 10.1 inches and 7 inches in the last few years. Now the company is entering new territory with the model iPad tablet-sized 9.7-inch IPS display with 1024 x 768 pixels. ViewSonic Tablet Android ViewPad 97a will be sold in China later this month. This tablet uses 1.2 GHz processor ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 1GB of memory RAM, HDMI port, and support for 1080p HD video playback.
This tablet supports Google's Android Market, and will be marketed by Google's Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread is not the version 4.0 operating system Android Ice Cream Sandwich.ViewSonic will offer 3G model as well as WiFi version. No information related to pricing or availability outside of China today.
